Francis Orpen Morris (1810 - 1893) was a clergyman with a passion for nature, and spent much of his free time writing about British birds, butterflies and stately homes. He studied Classics at Oxford University, and whilst there he helped organise the insect collection in Oxford's Ashmolean Museum. Morris worked with Benjamin Fawcett, a local printer, and Alexander Lydon, an artist. Fawcett was amongst the best of the nineteenth century woodblock printers.
