This would have had fittings inside to hold a lamp or burn incense, but these are no longer present. The ball has a central hinge and fastens together with two clasps - it has to be said that if you open it, persuading the two halves to join together again is a tricky process, and one that would probably be easier with a second pair of hands to help! It has a hanging chain with a hook so you can easily suspend it from the ceiling.

Condition: The finial on the base of the ball is a little bent. It has a few minor dents, and is a little tarnished in places, but is in good condition overall. As mentioned above, the internal fittings are no longer present.

Dimensions:

The ball measures approximately 25cm in diameter.
