This dough trough has a great ‘look’. It is very large, so will need a space of equally generous proportions to sit in, but it would look fantastic set on a sideboard filled with fruit or pinecones, or maybe overflowing with Christmas decorations, or perhaps as a centrepiece on a large rustic dining table. It has a dry unwaxed finish, a nice pale pine colour, and old metal repairs to one end. You can see marks on the timber from when it was carved.
Condition: The trough has suffered a woodworm infestation at some point in the past - this is no longer active (though we have treated it as a precaution) but has left woodworm holes throughout and one of the handles is quite worn as a result. Otherwise it is in good strong condition.
