A beautiful chair made by one of the best furniture makers of the period. It’s open construction allows it to have quite a small footprint whilst not compromising on space to sit, and also means that the chair is comparatively lightweight. It is very comfortable to sit in. The ostrich leather upholstery I would guess has been done in the last ten or twenty years or so, though may be older - it has been very well done.

Condition: The chair is in very good condition throughout. The exposed woodwork is in very good order and the frame is solid. The leather upholstery is free of stains and tears - there are a few pinprick type marks and small scratches mainly on one side below the armrest area, which I would guess have been caused by a cats claws, but you have to look closely to see them. We have given the leather a wipe with a slightly damp cloth to remove any dust but haven’t done anymore than that to it. The only real flaw with it is that the castors do not roll freely as the wheels have worn down slightly so are no longer perfectly round.

Dimensions:

Width - 75cm

Depth - 85cm

Height - 88cm

Seat height - approximately 37cm
