This lovely box had me scratching my head when I first received it, as I couldn’t figure out how to open it! After a while I realised that there is a cunningly concealed inset button that you press on the side of the box, which releases the spring catch to open the lid - very clever and neat! It has parquetry herringbone pattern decoration all over, with an attractive star design to the centre of the lid.
Condition: There are some replaced pieces of inlay to the back of the box, and a small chip on the back corner of the lid, but other than that it is in very good condition.
