This absolutely beautiful chest of drawers has obviously been loved and cared for throughout its life and as a result is in very good condition. The timber is lovely and is really brought to life by the highly polished finish (which has resulted in unavoidable glare in some of the photos). The drawers are edged in a double band of line inlay, and have their original handles and escutcheons. There is a band of chequered inlay running around the top and bottom edges of the top, with another line of chequered inlay beyond the cross-banding. A further band of line inlay runs around the base of the chest. It stands on splayed bracket feet and has a shaped skirt.

Condition: There are some minor surface marks, mainly to the feet and the lower part of the sides. The chequered inlay has a few small losses. The drawer fronts have changed shape a little over time and don’t shut perfectly in line with the body of the chest. The removable glass top has a few small scratches and marks. Overall the chest is in very good condition.
