A good quality piece of furniture with oak and pine lined drawers. As with many Victorian pieces, it is generously proportioned, so if you need lots of storage space it is ideal! It splits in half horizontally to make moving it around easier - I’m not sure if it was made like this or if it has been altered at some point, but it has been neatly done.
Condition: This chest had spent a long time in a garage when we acquired it, but it seems to have withstood this very well which is a testament to the build quality of antique furniture! We have given it a good clean, and removed the paper drawer liners (which were very dirty) and made a few repairs to the veneer in places where it had been chipped. There has been a repair to the back of the rear right leg. It still has some marks where the veneer has been scuffed, mostly on the lower two drawer fronts, and some paler areas that have probably been caused by water damage - these show up more in some lights than others and I have tried to show this in the photos. The drawers open and shut well.
